Women's Basketball Makes it Six Straight Wins; Lions Edge Bethany

BETHANY, WV – Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) scored the go-ahead layup with 37 seconds left to help the Penn State Behrend women's basketball come back to defeat Bethany (WV) 72-68 in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

Final Score: Penn State Behrend 72, Bethany 68

Key Moments:

* Down 67-66 and out of a Behrend timeout, Boyer drained the basket and got fouled for the three-point play
* Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) made a free throw 22 seconds later put the Lions ahead 70-67
* The Bison answered with a free throw, before Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin)  got two to fall at the line with three seconds left for the final margin
* The win marks the sixth straight for the Lions
* Boyer tallied her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds
* Majewski led all scorers with 19 points, while Brianna Dean (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) recorded 14 points
* Dean went 4-for-4 from behind the arc while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out two assists
* Behrend outscored the Bison in all but the second quarter
* Bethany held a 28-19 advantage for a 41-33 halftime lead
* No more than five points separated each team in the final quarter
