Schroeck, Wagner Named NSCAA Great Lakes All-Region

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's soccer seniors Valerie Wagner (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) and Julia Schroeck (Fairview, PA/Fairview) were named to the 2012 NCAA Division III Women All-Great Lakes Region Team, announced on Tuesday.

Wagner and Schroeck were selected to the third team for their first All-Region honors. The most recent women's soccer players selected to the All-Region team include Stephanie Bowen (2005) and Kayla Frost (2009).

Wagner was an All-AMCC First-Team choice this season after scoring eight goals and dishing out nine assists for 25 points. She completes her career as a four-time All-Conference choice, including three times on the first team and Offensive Player of the Year in 2011. Wagner graduates ranked third in career assists (21), tied for third in points (85) and fourth in goals (32). She also is first in most games played in program history with 85 games.  

Schroeck started in all 20 games this season and was an All-AMCC third-team selection. Between playing up front or on defense, she managed to score a team-leading nine goals. Out of those nine goals, three were game winners.  Schroeck finished her career tied for sixth with 83 games played, and recorded 20 goals and five assists for 45 points.
