Women's Swimming and Diving Back in Third at AMCC Championships

ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team moves back into third place after day three of the 2023 Allegheny-Empire Championships hosted by Nazareth College at the Webster Aquatic Center on Friday night.  

Combined Women's Scores: 1. Nazareth (858.50), 2. Alfred State (587), 3. Penn State Behrend (544), 4. Hartwick (439), 5. Penn State Altoona (430.50), 6. Alfred (348), 7. Utica (211), 8. Pitt-Bradford (82), 9. Wells (100), 10. Medaille (64) 

Noteworthy:

* Madelyn King (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown) had the best performance on the night, taking second in the 400 IM
* King touched with a time of 4:51.04, recording the best time in this event by a freshman in program history and third-best time overall
* Diver Julia Sank (North East, PA/North East) got the Lions 20 points with a third-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 277.95
* Jadyn Danylko (Erie, PA/McDowell) was the top finisher for Behrend in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.49 (fourth best freshman time in program history)
* The 400 medley relay consisting of Danylko, Emma Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford), Bella Nadzam (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Heidi Schwartz (Webster, NY/Webster) came in fourth place (4:16.00)
* E. Webster had the top time for Behrend in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:01.60 for sixth followed by Alexa Brown (Cooperstown, PA/Rocky Grove) in eighth (1:03.21)
* Becca Krenzer (Grove City, PA/Grove City) led the Lions in the 200 freestyle
* Krenzer had a time of 2:00.71, good enough for eighth

Next Up:

* Behrend returns to the water tomorrow for the final day of the AMCC Empire Championships. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 5 p.m.
