The Penn State Behrend women's tennis program captured the 2009 AMCC Championship on October 18.  To go along with their ninth title in twelve years, several of the members were tabbed in All-Conference slections.

Sophomore Arica Christman (Sharon/Sharon) was voted AMCC Tennis Player of the Year for 2009.  Christman successfully defended her #1 singles title and was runner up with teammate Stephanie Cattron (Greenville/Commodore Perry) in #1 doubles in the AMCC Tournament.  Along with Christman, Cattron earned First Team All-Conference in singles and Second Team in doubles.

Also representing the Behrend Lions on the First Team All-Conference for singles play were seniors Christy Calvert (Warren/Mercyhurst Prep) and Karen Hobaugh (Kutztown/Kutztown).  Calvert and Hobaugh continued to show great leadership throughout the year and ended their careers on a great note.

Hillary Lasher (Lakewood/Southwestern) and Leslie Durante (Fairview/Fairview) rounded out the blue and white First Team All-Conference selections.  Lasher and Durante also took the honors of First Team All-Conference doubles.

Behrend Head Coach Jeff Barger won his second consecutive AMCC Coach of the Year honors in leading his team yet another AMCC crown.
