Lions Blank Pitt-Bradford in AMCC Action

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Behrend women’s tennis team posted their second shut-out victory and first since the season opener with a 9-0 win over Pitt-Bradford in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday.

With the win, the Lions remain undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record.  In the singles competition, Arica Christman improved her record to 6-1 at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Megan Flinchbaugh made her first appearance in the singles lineup at the six spot, winning convincingly (6-1, 6-1).  Leslie Durante and Allison Quigley increased their winning streak to two wins at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

All three doubles teams had easy wins, starting with Christman and Steph Cattron posting an 8-1 victory at the top spot. The Hillary Lasher and Durante team along with Quigley and Jade Buhite team each won 8-2 in their doubles match.

Behrend returns to action on Friday at La Roche. Match time is 4 p.m.
