2003-04 Women's Basketball

The 2003-04 Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team is the only squad under head coach Roz Fornari to be named AMCC regular-season champions, win the AMCC title and advance to the NCAA Tournament all in one year.

The Lions recorded the second-most wins in program history with an overall record of 22-6, while posting an 11-1 mark in conference play. The team’s success that year was only rivaled by the 1993-94 season where they earned their first-ever bid to the NCAA Tournament in school history and advanced to the second round.

The Lions incredible season came to a head when they defeated Pitt-Greensburg 67-56 to capture their second AMCC Championship and first since 1998-99.  Behrend earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, but ultimately fell to Wittenberg in the first round.

The postseason accolades poured in for the Lions. Roz Fornari received AMCC Coach of the Year honors, while Tenesha Aden was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year for pacing the team with 11.9 points per game. Aden and Brittany Mays were selected to the All-AMCC First Team and Erica Mozdy earned a spot on the All-Conference second team.
