2004 Men's Golf

The Penn State Behrend men’s golf team made history in 2004. The Lions captured the school’s first-ever AMCC Championship under current Hall of Fame Coach, James Curren. Behrend edged Penn State Altoona by one stroke to win the conference title at Pine Creek Golf Club on October 10.

The Lions carded a 322 as a team and placed two golfers in the Top 10, including runner up Josh Loaney. Loaney was tied for first place, but lost in a sudden death playoff decided after the first hole. He finished the day with a low score of 75. Kevin Grignolo was second on the team and ninth overall with a score of 80.

Josh Hull carded an 82 to tie for 16th overall and Tom Ohmer ranked 24th overall with a score of 85. The final golfer for Behrend was Jeffery Black, who tallied an 88 at the one-day tournament.

Loaney was named to the All-AMCC First Team and Grignol was chosen to the Second Team. Josh Hull was tabbed Honorable Mention and Curren earned Coach of the Year honors.
