2008 Men's Basketball

The 2008 men’s basketball team captured the program’s third Allegheny Mountian Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time.  
 
The Lions avenged a one-point loss to Lake Erie from the previous season in the AMCC Tournament to claim their third title with a 57-54 victory on March 1, 2008. Behrend won its opening round game in the NCAA Tournament over SUNY-Farmingdale (83-62) and then fell to Rochester (65-56). The Lions finished 24-5 overall and 15-3 in the AMCC.
 
Kevin Buczynski was named AMCC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference. Justin Kovac earned All-AMCC Honorable Mention while head coach Dave Niland was Co-Coach of the Year in the conference.
