Arica Christman is the first and only four-time AMCC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year in conference history. She led the Behrend Lions from 2008-12, helping secure four consecutive AMCC Championships. Christman was also a four-time AMCC Champion at No. 1 singles and a three-time AMCC Champion at No. 1 doubles.  She was named to the All-AMCC first team in four consecutive seasons and was voted Team MVP all four years.

You cannot achieve excellence without doing what you’re naturally good at. For Christman, that was competing in tennis.

Christman was Behrend’s key weapon on the tennis court. She served up talent and skill. The two elements combined helped Christman reshape the Behrend women’s tennis program into a powerhouse. The Lions posted three undefeated seasons in conference play and captured the AMCC Title all four years.

Individually, she emerged as the teams most talented player.

Earning AMCC Player of the Year as a freshman is a rare feat. Christman earned that accomplishment and used determination to make that honor hers for the next three years. Her confidence was surely an intimidating sight for anyone. Christman not only dominated the game of tennis, but she did so at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles.

She etched her legacy in the record books, and it will continue to shine bright alongside this honor.

Christman lives in Chicago and is the Senior Manager of Digital Commerce for The Hershey Company. She also serves as a member of the Network of Executive Women.
