Lions Fall to Fredonia St.

FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team fell to Fredonia St. 67-58 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (5-3) fell behind by 13 at the break and could not catch the Blue Devils in the second half.

Fredonia St. came out fast to start the contest, opening up a 14-0 lead through the first six minutes.  Behrend finally got on the board after Russ Conley (Transfer, PA/Reynolds) made two from the free-throw line.  The Blue Devils offensive dominance continued though, holding at least a nine-point advantage for the entire first half.

With the second half underway, the Lions had some ground to make up.  Behrend trailed 54-38 with less than 10 minutes to play.  Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) sparked some life into the Lions' offense with a three pointer.  Keith Wallace (Erie, PA/Central Tech) followed with five straight points to cut the deficit to 11.  Behrend had an answer on offense but could not stop Fredonia St.  The two teams traded baskets for the rest of the game with the Lions falling for just the third time all season.

Conley led all scorers with 25 points.  Wallace chipped in 13 off the bench.

Behrend will be back in action on December 28th at the Smokey Ballenger Tournament at Otterbein.
