Hamburg, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team defeated Hilbert 2-0 in conference play Wednesday.
The defense was rewarded for shutting out yet another conference team. Jake Gamble netted his team-leading 12th goal in the 20th minute of regulation, thanks to a Aaron Meehl cross which led to the McKinney header.
With ten minutes remaining in the second half David Steen connected with AMCC Player of the Week Lance Sabol on a corner kick who tallied to put the Lions (11-2-3, 7-0 AMCC) up 2-nil.
Chris Bolea would collected his only save opportunity as Mike Liebdzinski, Danny Poljak, Kyle Mckinney and Zach Herd held the Hawks (3-12-1, 3-3-1 AMCC) to one shot on goal.
Behrend will take the field Saturday, October 23 to battle Mt. Aloysius at 3 p.m.
