PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Brian Bodnar scored two goals and Jerry Tortella handed out a pair of assists to help the Behrend men’s soccer team defeat La Roche 6-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener on Saturday afternoon.
Danny Poljak netted his first goal of the season and the game winner just 12 minutes after the opening whistle. Tyler Izenas, Garrett Fiscus, and Aaron Meehl also scored, while the Lions (5-1-3) collected their third shut out of the season.
Izenas’ and Fiscus’ goals was their first in a Behrend uniform.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday against reigning AMCC Champion Medaille. Game time is 4 p.m.
