Lions Head to Mt. Aloysius for AMCC Volleyball Match of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will travel to Cresson, Pa. on Saturday to take on Mt. Aloysius in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match beginning at 1 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* Today's match could have regular-season title implications with the top two teams in the conference going head-to-head in the AMCC Match of the Week
* The Lions were on the positive side of a five-set match on Tuesday, defeating Pitt-Bradford 3-2 on the road
* Junior middle hitter Alex Parra (Pittsburgh, PA/Bishop Canevin) set a new school record for blocks in a single match with 12
* Behrend enter's this crucial AMCC match with a 15-9 overall record and 6-1 conference mark
* Senior setter Lexi Irwin (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) ranks 12th in NCAA Division III statistics in triple-doubles this season with three. She also has 14 double-doubles on the season

Mt. Aloysius News & Notes:

* The Mounties are on top of the AMCC standings as the only school with an unblemished conference record at 7-0
* Mt. Aloysius are riding a 11-match winning streak and recently defeated Pitt-Greensburg 3-0 on Wednesday night
* Sophomore libero Kylee Clawson ranks second in the AMCC in digs with 468.
* Sophomore Machala Gibbons and senior middle hitter Sarah Fisher are one and four kill from 250 this season, respectively

Series History

* The Lions have never dropped a match to Mt. Aloysius dating back to 2004. Behrend is 16-0 overall and have shut out the Mounties in 14 matches.
* Last season, the Lions defeated Mt. Aloysius 3-0 during the regular season and 3-0 in the first round of the AMCC playoffs.
