ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team announced their team awards for the 2018 season, which are voted on by the members of the team. The Lions finished with a 16-4-2 record and an 8-0-1 record in conference play. Behrend beat Medaille 3-1 to win the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship for the first time in program history. The Lions continued to beat Lycoming 1-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament then defeated John Carroll 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. Behrend then fell to Calvin in the NCAA regional semifinals to end the season.

Senior goalkeeper Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) was named the Most Valuable Player of the squad this season. Ralph was ranked first in the conference with a .809 save percentage and 15 wins in between the pipes. Ralph was named the 2018 AMCC Defensive Player of the Year and the 2018 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Year. Ralph was also named to the All-AMCC First Team along with the second team of the NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region Team. Ralph also exceled in the classroom, receiving a spot on the 2018 United States Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America Third Team.

Sophomore midfielder Michael DiCola (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) was named the Most Improved on the team. During his sophomore season, DiCola played in all of the 22 games and started 18 of these. He tallied two goals and three assists on the season for a total of seven points. DiCola scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win against AMCC opponent Mt. Aloysius.

The Rookie of the Year award went to freshman Logan Brinsky (Pittsburgh, PA/Peters Township). Brinsky played in all 22 games during the season and started the final 11 games. Brinsky scored a season-high nine goals tallying 18 points. Brinsky had the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Lycoming in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to push the Lions forward. Brinsky was also named to the All-AMCC Third Team for his outstanding offensive performance.
