Behrend Wrestling Opens Season at W&J Invitational

WASHINGTON, Pa. – Kyle Trim (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove) and Zach Dellinger each posted a 2-2 record to lead the Penn State Behrend wrestling team at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* As a team, the Lions registered 15 points and seven pins on the day
* Behrend had seven wrestlers win matches, with Trim and Dellinger getting a pair of wins
* At 125, Dellinger got his first collegiate win over H. Crouse of Thiel, pinning him in 3:20 before posting an 8-7 decision against L. Cocca of Lycoming
* Trim, wrestling at heavyweight, collected two pinfalls
* Trim took down T. Patrick of Waynesburg in 2:06 and then P. Trapp of Southern Virginia in 0:48
* Mitch Headley (Jamestown, PA/Jamestown) pinned P. MacDonald of Southern Virginia with a time of 2:54 at 125
* Zachary Edwards (DuBois, PA/DuBois) collected a win at 157 for Behrend, taking down Farhid Degahban of Pitt-Bradford in 2:59
* Wrestling at 174, Matt Posego (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) needed 4:10 to pin Trevor Campbell of UMBC for his first collegiate win
* The final two wins went to Andrew Maser (Cranberry Township, PA/Harmony) and Russ Wismer (Edinboro, PA/General McLane)
* Maser, competing at 165, pinned R. Diego of Southern Virginia before Wismer tallied a  7-4 decision against Chase Blaney of Fairmont State at 197
