Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 in Overtime to Penn State Altoona

On Saturday, October 25, Penn State Altoona traveled to Erie, PA, for a key AMCC match-up. Altoona, who entered the contest with a 14-0-1 mark and a 6-0-1 record in conference play, escaped with a 1-0 overtime win over the Behrend Lions.

After 90 minutes of scoreless action on a cold and damp day on the Behrend Fields, Altoona found the back of the net three minutes into overtime.

Behrend Lions goalie Beth Lacy (Erie/Harborcreek) played strong in goal, stopping an early PK and making four saves for the blue and white on the day.

After winning consecutive AMCC Championships, Behrend stands at 6-10-1 overall and 5-3 in the league.

Penn State Behrend will host conference rival Medaille to finish out the regular season on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.   The game has conference tournament seeding implications as the Mavericks are 5-2 currently and both teams are positioning themselves for a first-round home game in the opening round of the tournament on Saturday, November 1.
