Lions Set To Compete in Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field program will compete in a quad meet at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

* The Lions had two first-place finishes along with five top five finishes
* Senior Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) opened the outdoor season with a win in the women's 3000m steeplechase (12:10.76)
* Sargent was named the CSAC Track Athlete of the Week for her win in the steeplechase
* Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) finished first in the women's pole vault event, recording a height of 3.60m
* Yenchik also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 4.89m
* Yenchik was named the CSAC Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Cal U Early Bird Invite
* In the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field rankings, Yenchik is ranked 14th
* In the 5000m run, Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) finished fifth with a time of 18:35.57 which also qualifies her for the All-Atlantic Championship
* Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) took home third place in the women's shot put with a 10.53m throw
* Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) finished fifth in the 800m run, along with a tenth place finish in the 1500m
* Hanna Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) followed Sargent in the steeplechase, finishing fifth
