ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field program opens the season at the Houghton December Classic on Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m.

* The Lions open the 2019-20 season on Friday
* The Houghton Classic will be the lone match in 2019 with the team returning to action in January
* Behrend has 14 returners along with six new faces
* Head coach Greg Cooper begins his season 13th season at the helm of the track and field program
* Top returners for the Lions include Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch), Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes), Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area), Erica Koenig (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), and Caroline Upham (Erie, PA/Iroquois)
* All seven athletes were named to the First-Team All-CSAC last season
* The Behrend team consists of eight seniors, one junior, five sophomores, and six freshman
