Four Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend Athletics has four student-athletes named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

In women's tennis, Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview) earned Athlete of the Week. She went undefeated (3-0) in singles action for the Lions this week, helping the team post a 2-1 record. The senior was a double winner in the top spots in the AMCC match against Altoona. Jasinski won in a tiebreaker set at No. 1 singles and recorded an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) was selected the women's cross country Athlete of the Week. The senior led the Behrend Lions at their home invitational on Friday evening. Carr crossed the finish line 1:09 behind the leader for eighth place in 23:30. Her 6K time is good to take the top spot in the best times of the AMCC this season.

For the second straight week, junior outside hitter Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) earned women's volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Phillips averaged 4.14 kills per set in five matches this week for the Lions. She hit .352 overall and had double-digit kills in all but one match. Phillips registered .480 attack percentage in back-to-back matches. For the week, she tallied 58 kills, 21 digs, seven aces and six blocks.

Justin LeDonne (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional), the men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, was the anchor of the Behrend defense that posted a pair of shut-out victories this week. The Lions held Grove City and Chatham to each five shots on goal. LeDonne also fired off a pair of shots against the Wolverines on Wednesday.
