Reese Wetzel, a graduate of Harbor Creek High School, was a versatile baseball player for the Behrend Lions during four years of play. He was a four-year starter and three-year captain, posting a .329 career batting average.  

Wetzel was named to the Mid-East Region Baseball team during his freshman season after hitting an impressive .413, and in his senior season he was voted the team's MVP after leading the team in hits, home runs, and RBIs. He is ninth all-time in career hits with 106. Almost 40% of his hits went for extra bases. He is third in career doubles with 23, third in career triples with 7, and fourth in career home runs with 7. He is also ranked eleventh in career runs scored with 69 and in career RBIs with 57.Wetzel's defensive versatility enabled him to play first, second, short, third, and pitch for the blue and white. He ranks ninth in career put-outs with 277.   

Wetzel graduated from Penn State Behrend in 1991. He is married, has one son, and is a Pennsylvania state trooper.
