Rick Demski, a graduate of Cathedral Prep High School, was a four-year basketball starter under Hall of Famer Doug Zimmerman and served as co-captain for two years.

Demski was the most prolific scorer in Behrend basketball history. He still holds the all-time mark for points scored in a career with 1,446. He is also number one in field goals made with 567 and free throws made with 337. He is second all-time in career field-goal percentage (56.6%) and third in career rebounds (806).

Demski, along with Randy Baughman, led the men's basketball team to their first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference postseason bid in 1988-89. In 1990, Demski shared the honor of being Male Athlete of the Year with Baughman.

Demski graduated from Penn State Behrend in 1991. Demski is married, has one daughter, and is employed by Bristol Myers Squibb Company.
