2009 Baseball

The 2009 edition of the Penn State Behrend baseball team claimed the program’s second consecutive AMCC Championship and punched a ticket to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
The Behrend Lions put together an impressive 33-13 overall record, while finishing 16-2 in AMCC play. After defeating Penn State Altoona to clinch the AMCC title, Behrend advanced to play The College of New Jersey and Penn State Berks in the NCAA Tournament.

Senior pitcher David Koerbel was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Year after posting an 9-1 record with a 3.61 ERA. Junior Josh Fyffe was named the AMCC Player of the Year for racking up a .404 batting average while driving in 55 runners with nine homers, three triples, and 12 doubles. Joining these two on the All-AMCC First Team was Jon Gray.

Andy Chrobak, Dustin Dubensky, Dave Miller, and Geoff Lang were selected to the All-Conference Second Team while Eddie Kessler was named to the Third Team.
