Brooke Gallentine Muralo

Gallentine was a four-year starter for the women’s volleyball team from 2006-09. She helped the Lions to a 94-36 overall record and a 34-3 conference mark in her four years while making three appearances in the ECAC Tournament, capturing the championship in 2008. Gallentine registered 4,217 career assists to place her second on the all-time list. She also collected 1,242 digs, good for eighth place in the record books. Gallentine capped her career with the coveted Behrend Co-Female Athlete of Year honor. She was also a four-time All-Conference selection, earning first-team accolades her junior and senior year.

In 2006, the team set the record for most wins in a season with a 29-4 overall record, while going undefeated in conference play at 9-0. The Lions captured the AMCC regular-season title and finished runners up in the AMCC Tournament. She helped the Lions earn their first-ever trip to the ECAC Southern Regional Tournament, advancing to the championship game. Gallentine led the team and ranked second in the conference with 1,108 assists, averaging 10.26 assists per set to earn the team’s Rookie of the Year award and also garner Second Team All-AMCC accolades. She also ranked third on the team with 333 digs, her best output in a season during her career.

During her sophomore year, Gallentine eclipsed 2,000 assists with the addition of 976 assists this season. She earned her second All-Conference honors as an honorable mention, ranking third in the AMCC with 9.76 assists per set.

Gallentine avenged the loss in the ECAC Championship match in her freshman campaign by helping the Behrend Lions claim their first-ever ECAC South Championship in 2008. She posted a double-double with a season-high 51 assists and 10 digs in the five-set win over Cabrini for the ECAC title. This season sparked her first of two First Team All-Conference honors, while earning Team MVP. Gallentine finished the year with 1,062 assists, 309 digs ,72 kills and 38 service aces. The team posted a 25-9 overall mark and an 8-1 record in conference play.

Gallentine registered her second-highest assist total her senior year with 1,071 to give her 4,217 career assists. She also added 291 digs for 1,242 career digs. Gallentine led the Lions to the AMCC Championships and another trip to the ECAC Tournament. She was named First Team All-Conference and Co-Female Athlete of the Year. Gallentine continues to rank second in career assists and is fourth in sets played with 441.
