Aaron Meehl was a three-time All-Region and All-AMCC player for the Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team from 2008-12. He scored 22 goals and dished out 13 assists for 57 points in his career. Meehl was an All-AMCC first-team choice in his junior and senior years, landing on the All-Great Lakes Region Team and Scholar All-East Region Team. He led Behrend to the AMCC Title in his senior year and earned the PSB Male Athlete of the Year.

The numbers on the stat sheet are impressive. The postseason accolades perhaps even more so. But work ethic and versatility were Meehl’s mainstays.

Meehl was part of a freshman class that turned Behrend’s record from 12-8-1 in 2008 to 18-5-2 in 2009 and won an ECAC Championship. Perhaps the feather in the cap that season for Meehl was his goal and assist in the ECAC Title game. The team’s Rookie of the Year went to Second Team All-AMCC in a year. He also landed on the NSCAA Great Lakes All-Region Team, tying for second on the team with eight goals and adding two assists for 18 points.

In 2010, the Lions advanced to their third ECAC Tournament and registered an undefeated regular season in conference play (9-0). The most memorable season was 2011, celebrating fifth overall AMCC Championship and second trip to the NCAA Championships.

Meehl skillful on the field and fast with the ball at his feet. Those handing out plaudits noticed his skill, too. He earned First Team All-AMCC and All-Region honors for both his junior and senior seasons. In his final year, he garnered accolades for his performance on the field but also for academics, with Scholar All-Region recognition and the coveted Behrend Male Athlete of the Year award.

Meehl finished with 22 goals and 13 assists for 57 points, ranking 11th all-time in goals and points.
