Geoff Lang was instrumental in clinching three AMCC Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances for Behrend baseball team from 2008-11. The three-time All-AMCC Second-Team selection was also chosen a “Player to Watch” by Collegiate Baseball heading into his senior season. That same year, he was second on the team in hits, RBIs and stolen bases while helping the Lions make an appearance in the ECAC Tournament.

Talent is our most human possession. It is talent that drives us. Lang’s talent was the driving force behind the Behrend baseball success and the unprecedented 61-13 overall conference record in his four years with the program.

He worked hard and ran fast. Incredibly fast. It showed in Lang’s 71 career stolen bases and 153 runs scored.

Lang had unconditional perseverance for competing and winning. He also had a way of taking the pressure off, having fun or even lightening the mood by providing comic relief.

Lang was a leader and a teammate who wanted everyone around him to succeed. The proof came in four post-season appearances and perhaps the winningest period in baseball program history.

Lang finished his career how he started it; one of the best. At time of graduation, he ranked second all-time in stolen bases, sixth in at-bats, seventh in hits and slugging percentage.
