Tom Lulich is regarded as one of the best two-way players in Penn State Behrend men’s basketball history. He led the Lions to post-season play in each year from 2001-05. Lulich was instrumental in helping Behrend capture its second AMCC Championship in his senior year. That year, he was second on the team in scoring with 11.5 points per game and first in three-pointers, with 64. Lulich was a two-time AMCC Honorable Mention and finished fourth all-time in career three-pointers, with 185.

Penn State Behrend fielded some top-notch basketball teams in the early 2000s, led by the likes of James Curren ’04, Casey Ponsoll ’04 and David Hairston ’04. Those three players are in the Behrend Hall of Fame.

Now, they are joined by someone who utilized his athletic ability to dominate both sides of the floor – Tom Lulich ‘05. Lulich played lockdown defense and was selfless on offense.

It did not take long to see what kind of player Lulich would be. The four-year starter went from being the teams Rookie of the Year in 2002 to MVP in his senior season. Lulich was regarded as one of the AMCC’s best three-point shooters.

He had, arguably, his best season as a senior in 2004-05 scoring 11.5 points per game and shooting 41 percent from the floor and behind the arc. Lulich was the leading scorer in seven contests, including a season-high 24 points at Westminster on Nov. 30, 2004. He earned back-to-back All-Conference honors after leading the Lions to the AMCC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Lulich resides in Pittsburgh, Pa. and is the manufacturing manager for Bayer Pharmaceuticals. He is married to wife Kristie and they have two sons, Kellen and Theo.
