Jill Yamma returns to her alma mater to be appointed as the college’s first full-time Sports Information Director, with responsibility for assisting in the coordination of public and media relations for Athletics. Yamma will write and supervise the distribution of news and feature releases, oversee the design and production of publications for all sports, respond to requests for information regarding athletics, and serve as a liaison for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Most recently, Yamma was director of athletic communications and sports marketing at Allegheny College where she helped implement the new athletic website and implement marketing strategies. She also has held similar positions at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., and Gettysburg College.
A native of Erie, Pa., Yamma graduated from Penn State Behrend with a B.S. in Business, Liberal Arts and Science, and went on to earn her MBA in 2003. While at Behrend, she was a four-year starter for the women's soccer team. Yamma also earned team MVP honors and was selected as the Allegheny Mountain All-Conference MVP in 1999. She was inducted into the Behrend Athletics Hall of Fame in October 2009 and the McDowell High School Hall of Fame along with her 1996 teammates in April 2014.
