ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the women’s basketball team combined fundraising efforts and raised over $3,400 to assist in the rebuilding of fire-damaged Ricardo’s Restaurant owned by Pete West, a long time supporter of Behrend athletics.

The women’s basketball team sold Ricardo’s t-shirts, held a carwash last Saturday and had several alumni make donations, while SAAC and the varsity teams had penny wars, held a 50/50 raffle and gathered money from various fundraising throughout the year to help the local restaurant.

West, the recipient of the Richard Dill Outstanding Service Award in 1999-2000, has been kind to the athletic department and the visiting teams over the years.
