Lions Fall at Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team fell at Pitt-Bradford, dropping both team games and the baker format on Tuesday night.

In the first game of the team match, Becky Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) and Bayleigh Adams (Manchester, NJ/Manchester) knocked down a team-high of 146 pins. Adams rolled three consecutive strikes while Patterson picked up five spares and a strike, but the Panthers were able to take the first game, 718-601.

Patterson continued on the day and rolled the best score of the day for Behrend in game two of the team format, knocking down 150 pins. Bobbi Doubet (Cambridge Springs, PA/ Cambridge Springs) and Hali Hartley (Seven Fields, PA/Mars) followed just behind with a score of 148 apiece.

Despite rolling their best game of the night, Pitt-Bradford was able to take game two as well, 774-638.

The Panthers picked up another point on the day after defeating the Lions in the baker format game, 624-403.

Behrend bowled its best two scores in the first two games, but it was not enough to overcome Pitt-Bradford's heat, falling 140-118 and 162-104, respectively.

In the third game, the Lions fell 131-85, and despite improving their score in the fourth match, the Panthers posted a game-high and largest margin of victory, 191-96.

Up next, the Lions will head to Daeman for a head-to-head matchup on January 30 at 7 p.m.
