ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will host the Alfred State Pioneers on Saturday afternoon for a pivotal Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader. Game one begins at 1 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions are 13-7 overall and 5-3 in the AMCC standings, good for fourth place
* The Lions split a non-conference doubleheader with Pitt-Bradford on Monday afternoon
* Behrend won the opener 6-3 before falling 9-8 in the nightcap

* Senior outfielder Tanner Cicchini (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) went a combined 5-for-6 with three runs, two RBIs and two triples. Cicchini went 2-for-2 in game one and 3-for-4 with two triples in game two

* Alfred State is currently in third place in the AMCC with a 6-2 conference mark and 12-14 overall
* The Pioneers fell twice to Mt. Aloysius over the weekend in the AMCC Games of the Week
* Alfred State snapped a three-game losing skid with a 12-7 win over Elmira on Sunday
* Matteo Avallone was named the AMCC Player of the Week
* Avallone tallied a .457 batting average in six games for the Pioneers. He smacked six doubles, two home runs and drove in 12 runs while scoring seven.
* AJ Gartland and Nick Serce are ranked first and second in strikeouts in the AMCC. Gartland leads with 30 and Serce has registered 29
