Zbezinski, Harger Named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region

ERIE, Pa. – Junior pitcher Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) and sophomore outfielder Colin Harger (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) have been named to the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Mideast All-Region Team.

Zbezinski is earning his first All-Region honors on the second team after being named to the All-AMCC first team and selected to the NCAA All-Tournament squad. The junior starter finished the season with an 8-1 record on the mound in 10 appearances. Zbezinski is ranked 22nd in NCAA statistics for strikeouts with 85 over 64.1 innings pitched and is 29th overall with a 1.68 earned-run average. He allowed just 41 hits and 12 earned runs while walking 21 batters. Zbezinski registered a career-high 12 strikeouts in the AMCC Championships and threw his first collegiate no-hitter on May 8 against Pitt-Bradford. In his last appearance of the season, he threw a complete game and fanned 11 in a win over Rochester in the NCAA Tournament.

Harger was a Third-Team All-Region choice after leading the team and conference with a .421 batting average this season. The First-Team All-AMCC honoree ranked tied for second on the team in hits (53) and in doubles (11). Harger scored 29 runs and drove in 25 for a .540 slugging percentage.  The sophomore has 14 multiple-hit games and had a 19-game hitting streak. Harger tallied a career-best five hits in the AMCC semifinals against Mt. Aloysius. 

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.
