NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Muskingum baseball team only need five hits to generate seven runs to defeat Penn State Behrend 7-4 in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

Game One:

* The Lions had 11 total hits, including three in the first inning that produced three runs for the early lead
* The inning started with a walk and hit by a pitch, before Isaac Stouffer (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) singled to left field to score Zac Bogats (Corapolis, PA/Moon)
* Ionadi was driven in next on a single by Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA/Mt. Lebanon) and then Stouffer scored on a hit by Daniel Boehme (Peters, PA/Seton La Salle) for a 3-0 advantage
* Muskingum scored seven unanswered runs, getting three in the second to take the lead for good
* Stouffer went 3-for-4, while Ciocco and John Berger (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) each had a pair of hits
* Colin Kelly (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) got the started on the hill and pitched the first two innings for the loss
* Derrick Shields (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf ) and Jeff Zick (Moon, PA/Our Lady of Sacred Heart) came in relief and recorded four strikeouts apiece
