FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team begin its Spring Break trip in Florida with an 8-5 victory over Wabash on Sunday.

Key Moments:
* A two-out RBI single by Chase Palmer (Brookville, PA/Brookville) in the top of the second led to Behrend getting on the board first
* The Little Giants tied the score at one in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on a pair of errors by the Lions
* Behrend broke out for five runs on five hits in the next two innings to take a 6-1 advantage
* In the third inning, Thomas Nicely (Delmont, PA/Franklin Regional) drove in a pair of runs with a double and then was hit in on a Spencer Deitz (Erie, PA/McDowell) single
* The Lions plated two more runs in the fourth inning on a two-run single from Silvio Ionadi (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum)
* Wabash cut its deficit to one (6-5) with a pair of RBI singles off the bat of Ben Henke and Miles Cvelbar in the bottom of the seventh
* Behrend responded with RBI doubles from Palmer and Nicely in the final two innings to secure its 8-5 win
* Sophomore starter Andrew Bredel (Clinton, PA/Burgettstown) tossed 5.1 innings to go along with three hits, one earned run, and career-high eight strikeouts in his second win of the season
* Out of the bullpen, Jake Manendo (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) earned his second save of the year, notching 2.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts
* Palmer finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Nicely delivered two doubles and three runs-batted in
* Henke led the Little Giants with two hits and Will Fremion tallied a pair of RBIs on Sunday
