FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team split a doubleheader against Lasell with their 14-13 win on Sunday coming in walk-off fashion.
Game One: Lasell 4, Penn State Behrend 3
Records: Lasell (4-2), Penn State Behrend (3-3)
Key Moments:
* The Lions struck first with an RBI single from Spencer Deitz (Erie, PA/McDowell) in the top of the second
* Lasell responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single and sacrifice fly from Nick Nigro and Christopher Bulk
* The Lasers extended their lead with two more runs in the fifth inning
* Behrend cut its deficit to one (4-3) with runs-batted in by Deitz and David Gibson (North East, PA/North East) in the sixth inning
* However, Lasell reliever Darek Lallo shut the Lions down with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen to secure the save and the win
* At the plate, Deitz finished 3-for-3 with three singles and a game-high two RBIs
* Behrend left-handed pitcher Colin Bolla (Fairview, PA/Fairview) threw 5.0 innings to along with two earned runs and four strikeouts
* Nigro and Tim Callahan each recorded two hits for the Lasers, while starter Owen Caldwell tossed 5.1 innings with five strikeouts

Key Moments:
* Both teams plated three runs in the first inning of game two
* Deitz, Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA/Peters Township), and Chase Palmer (Brookville, PA/Brookville) all recorded RBIs in the bottom of the first
* Lasell grabbed an 8-3 advantage in the top of the fourth with five runs on five hits, capitalizing on a pair of errors by the Lions
* Behrend was able to get two runs back in the bottom half of the inning, this time taking advantage of a Lasers' miscue
* Lasell had another big inning in the top of sixth, tallying four runs with the big hit being a two-run single from Pierce Clare to extend its lead to 13-6
* The Lions answered back with a five-run bottom of the sixth to cut their deficit to two (13-11)
* Freshman Cayden Turner (Stoystown, PA/North Star) registered a two-out RBI single to bring two runners home and help Behrend get closer to the lead
* After Chase Caricato (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland), shut the Lasers offense down in the top of the seventh; the Lions put their rally caps on
* A pair of RBIs from Paul Connolly and Dylan Barnes knotted the score at 13 apiece with only one out
* This set the stage for Turner who once again delivered a clutch RBI to send Behrend away with the walk-off victory
* Caricato earned his first collegiate win, pitching two innings out of the bullpen and only allowing one hit with two strikeouts
* Barnes got on base every at-bat, going 6-for-6 with two RBIs. Ciocco also added three hits on Monday
* This marks the most hits in a single game for a player in program history
* Turner notched three hits and a game-high four runs-batted, while Palmer had two RBIs for the Lions
* As a team, Behrend finished with 16 hits and 12 RBIs in the comeback win
* For Lasell, Declan Silva went 3-for-4 with two runs-batted in
