FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team earned an 8-3 win against Monmouth (Ill.) on Wednesday.

* The Lions scored in seven of the nine innings with eight players tallying one or more hits
* Dylan Barnes (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) got the Lions going with a double down the left field line to lead off bottom of the first inning; then, he was hit in on a sacrifice fly by Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle)
* Freshman Tyler Burick (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) drove in his first collegiate run with a single in the second inning
* In the third, Boehme tallied another run-batted in with a two-out knock
* Behrend starter Evan Bromley (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) tossed three hitless frames to start the game, allowing the first Monmouth hit in the top of the fourth
* An RBI each by Spencer Deitz (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) in the fourth and fifth innings, extended the Lions lead to 5-0
* The Fighting Scots got on the board in the top of the sixth with three runs on three hits
* Cayden Turner (Stoystown, PA/North Star) gave Behrend some cushion with a two-run single with two outs in the bottom half of the inning
* Another two-out RBI single, this time off the bat of Boehme in the eighth would help secure the Lions third consecutive win in Florida
* Bromley cruised through the first five innings and ran into trouble in the sixth inning, finishing his outing in 5.1 innings to go along with three runs and five strikeouts to register his first win of the season on the mound
* Out of the bullpen, Jake Manendo (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) picked up his third save, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings and only allowing one hit with three strikeouts
* Turner led the Lions with three hits, while Boehme delivered a game-high three runs-batted in and Burick recorded his collegiate multi-hit game
* For Monmouth, Raul Guillermo notched a team-high two hits
