The Penn State Behrend Lions golf team recognized three playes with its annual team awards. Senior Joe Nelson (Warren, PA/Warren) was honored with the program's MVP and Leadership and Scholarship award, while senior Pat Petraglia (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) was named the Most Improved Player.
The Penn State Behrend Lions men's golf team is preparing for the upcoming 2010 NCAA Division III Championships which will take place on Tuesday, May 11 and last till Friday, May 14. The blue and white will try to keep the momentum going after capturing the 2010 AMCC title.

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team captured the 2009 AMCC Championship on Monday, October 5 at Tom's Run Golf Resort in Blairsville, Pennsylvania by shooting a score of 617 over two days of action.

The Behrend Lions claimed two AMCC Player of the Week honors. The league office announces selections each Monday throughout the season.

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team hosted the annual Behrend Invitational at Peak n' Peek ski and golf resort on Thursday, September 24. A total of twelve schools participated in the event.

Erin McCreary (Pittsburgh/Seton LaSalle) was selected as the women's soccer player of the week. Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski) was named the men's goalkeeper of the week. For the men's golf team, senior Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren) led the Behrend Lions to the Pitt-Bradford Invitational title. Kevin Gorny (Erie/McDowell) Gorny led the race from start to finish at the Westminster Invitational, and outdistanced the the nearest collegiate competitor by over 21 seconds.

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team opened the season on Saturday, September 5 with a solid performance at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational. The squad posted a score of 304 (+16) and went on to capture the title at Pine Acres Country Club.

The 2009 Behrend Lions golf season is about to begin and fourth-year head coach James Bowen has high hopes about what the squad can achieve this year. “The Behrend golf team has the potential to be the best team I have ever coached,” said 2008 Coach of the Year Coach Bowen.
