Behrend Clinches Second-Seed Playoff Birth; Men Breeze Past The Mounties, 91-66

CRESSON, Pa, - Russ Conley had a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opponent Mount Aloysius Saturday, 91-66.


Chris Saltzman chipped in 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the floor while Nick Thorsen and Nick Dvorsky each tallied 11. Senior point guard Justin Kovac had 10 of the Lions (22-3, 16-2 AMCC) 25 assists, which set season-highs in both categories.

The Mounties (10-14, 7-11 AMCC) were led by Demetrius Davis and Ryan Besonson. Davis put up 16 while Besonson was one rebound away from a double-double, scoring14 points and pulling down nine boards.


Behrend clinched a second seed birth in the AMCC playoffs by shooting 50.0 percent from the field. The Lions also turned Mount Aloysius over 15 times en route to a 25 point victory. Every Lion player contributed in the 91-66 win over Mount Aloysius.

Penn State Behrend will head to Pittsburgh, Friday, to compete in the 2011 AMCC Championships being hosted by La Roche.
