ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team used a strong defensive effort to defeat Penn State Altoona 66-36 on Sunday afternoon in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action.

The Lions (9-4, 5-1 AMCC) allowed just 14 field goals, holding Altoona to 26.4 percent shooting for the game.

Senior Russ Conley (Transfer, PA/Reynolds) almost matched the Altoona offense with 10 field goals himself.  Conley finished with a game-high 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

Behrend fell behind 2-0 early, but after Conley nailed a three at the 17:48 mark, the Lions never trailed again.  Conley scored the final six points of the first half to give the Lions a 36-22 halftime lead.

Nick DeLisio (Aliquippa, PA/Central Valley) kept the Behrend offense going with five quick points to open up the second half.  By the midway point of second twenty, the Lions increased their lead to 19.  Behrend capped the dominating performance with a Chris Dudzenski (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) three pointer for back-to-back victories of 30 or more points.

DeLisio scored in double figures for the eighth time this season with 14 points.  Shane Skelly (Westlake, OH/Westlake) registered eight points and Pat St. Andrews (State College, PA/State College) netted seven and tallied a team-best four assists.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday to host La Roche in the Junker Center at 4 p.m.
