ATLANTA, GA – Former Penn State Behrend men's basketball standout Pat St. Andrews (State College, PA/State College) has been promoted to assistant coach by the NBA Atlanta Hawks basketball operations department, announced by the general manager and head of basketball operations Travis Schlenk. 

St. Andrews was the Hawks' video coordinator last season. He originally joined the organization in 2013 as a seasonal assistant, basketball operations, before moving to assistant video coordinator in 2014-15. St. Andrews was also an assistant coach for the Dominican Republic National Team at the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City.

Andrews, a two-year captain, graduated from Behrend in May of 2013 with a master's in business administration. He earned two bachelor degrees, one in business economics and the other in international business. Andrews was a four-time AMCC All-Academic choice and earned the Herb Lauffer Memorial Award his senior year.

Last season, the Atlanta Hawks finished with an overall record of 43-39 and lost in the first round to the Washington Wizards. The Hawks open up the 2017-18 year on October 1 with a preseason game at the Miami Heat.
