GENEVA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team was narrowly defeated, 60-53, in the Hobart Tournament Championship Game to the hosts Hobart Saturday evening.

Key Moments:
* Most of the first half was back-and-forth with 12 lead changes and neither team going ahead by more than five points
* Hobart grabbed a seven-point lead (27-20) with 1:44 remaining in the first half, but a Nate Edwards (Girard, PA/Girard) three-pointer gave the Statesmen only a four-point advantage heading into halftime
* The Statesmen continued to preserve their lead to start the second half with the Lions attempting to chip away at it
* With nine minutes remaining in regulation, a dunk by Dorian Paki gave Hobart its biggest advantage of the night of 13 (50-37)
* The Statesmen would hold on to this lead to pick up their third win of the season
* Junior Matthew McDonough (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) tallied his second straight contest with 16 points, going 5-for-10 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc to go along with a team-high two steals
* Mason Blankenberg (Ontario, NY/Wayne) (six rebounds) and Dolan Waldo (five rebounds) (Pittsburgh, PA/Bethel Park) led the Lions on the glass, while Blankenberg chipped in eight points and Waldo finished with six points
* Off the bench, Edwards recorded seven points and three assists for Behrend
* For Hobart, Carter Meshanic registered a double-double with a team-high 14 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Moesch and Gabriel Bergeron each delivered eight points
