Lions Capture Own Invitational; Koerbel Wins Individual Title
Kevin Koerbel finished one over par to capture the Penn State Behrend Men’s Golf Spring Invitational on Thursday at the Peak ‘N Peek course.
FINDLAY, N.Y. – Kevin Koerbel finished one over par to capture the Penn State Behrend Men's Golf Spring Invitational on Thursday at the Peak 'N Peek course.
Koerbel won medalist honors with a low score of 73. The Lions had four more players in the Top 10, including second-place Dean Rainville. The sophomore carded a 75 to finish two away from the leader, Koerbel. As a team, Behrend took first place with a 317 total. Thiel came in second with a 325 score and Medaille was third (329).
Dan L'Herbier, playing as an individual, tied for fifth with teammate Kyle Meehl. Both golfers tallied an 80. Coming in eighth place was Zach Polanski with +9 for a score of 81.
Marc Neiswonger was 11th overall and fourth on the team, carding an 83 on the afternoon and in the Lions only invitational at home in the spring.
Alec Italiano was the fifth golfer in the team scores, ending with an 89 for 18 holes.
Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at the W&J Invitational. Tee times begin at 9 a.m.
