Lions Finish Fourth at Pitt-Bradford Invitational
Matt Gurska shot a two over par to finish with a score of 74 and earn second place out of 58 golfers at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational on Saturay.
BRADFORD, Pa. - Matt Gurska (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) shot a two over par to finish with a score of 74 and earn second place out of 58 golfers at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational held at Pine Acres Country Club on Saturday.
The Lions placed fourth out of nine teams with a 321 total. Daemen won the tournament with a score of 301, followed by Mt. Aloysius in second (310) and La Roche in third (319).
Gurska fired the lowest score on the first nine with a 35 and carded a 39 on the back for a 74 total. Daniel Corbin (Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) came in second on the team and tied for 13th overall with an 80. He shot a 41-39 for the day.
Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes), Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) and Alec Italiano (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) all tied for 15th, shooting an 81 to round out Behrend's top five. Koerbel took five strokes off the back nine (43-38), while Vetica and Italiano shot a 41-40 for the front and back, respectively.
The Lions return to action on Friday at the Hilbert Invitational. Tee time is 12 p.m.
