Men's Golf Places Third at Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational
Dante Vetica carded a team-low score of 157 to lead the Penn State Behrend men’s golf team at the two-day Peter C. Rossin Memorial Golf Invitational hosted by Washington & Jefferson at Southpoint Golf Club.
CANONSBURG, Pa. – Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) carded a team-low score of 157 to lead the Penn State Behrend men's golf team at the two-day Peter C. Rossin Memorial Golf Invitational hosted by Washington & Jefferson at Southpoint Golf Club.
Vetica tallied an 82 on Sunday and came back to have the best round out of 35 golfers with a 75 to tie for sixth place overall, helping the Lions finish third out of six teams with a team score of 654. The Presidents earned a 632 for first place and Point Park was second with a 643.
On a cold and wet first day, Behrend posted a 328 team total and took two strokes off to shoot a 326 today. Zack Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) had an 83 on day one and fired a 79 on day two for a 162 score, tying for 14th place.
Scott Klein (Fairview, PA/Fairview) was one stroke off of Polanski with a 163, shooting his best round of 80 on Sunday to tie for 18th overall. Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) finished with a 172 (83-89) and Daniel Corbin (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) was fifth on the squad, recording a 183 (87-96).
Behrend returns to action on Saturday at the AMCC Championships.
