Golfers Sit Fifth After Day One of Guy W. Kuhn Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) tied for third overall with a team-low score of 72 to lead Penn State Behrend at the Guy W. Kuhn Invitational hosted by Allegheny College on Saturday.

For the first 18 holes, Sculley carded an even par to lead the Lions to a fifth-place finish on day one of the invitational. Behrend recorded a score of 304, just four strokes off the leader in the Gators. Clarion is sitting second with a 301, while Point Park and St. Vincent are tied for third with a 303.

Dalton Zelasco (Meadville, PA/Meadville) was second on the team and tied for ninth overall with a season-low 75.  Nicholas VanDamia tallied a score of 77 to finish five over and place tied for 15th on the opening day.

Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) was the last golfer to score for the Lions with an 80. He tied for 29th place overall. Alex Shindledecker tied for 39th with an 82 for the round.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow for the second day of the tournament.
