Lions Place Fourth at Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Golf Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's golf placed fourth out of nine teams with a two-day total of 615 at the Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted at the Country Club of Meadville by Allegheny College on Monday.

The Lions, who shot a 304 on day one, tallied a 311 on the final day to edge out Wooster for fourth place. Allegheny had a team-low score of 287 for the second round to win the invitational. Clarion placed second (607) and St. Vincent was in third (613).

Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst) carded a tournament score of 151 to tie for seventh overall and pace Behrend in its second outing of the season. Sculley fired a 72 and then came back with a 79 on day two.

Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Dalton Zelasco (Meadville, PA/Meadville) finished tied for 15th. VanDamia tallied a 77 on both days for a 154 and Zelasco earned the same place with a 75 on day one and 79 this afternoon.

Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) was able to shave six strokes off his first day to earn a 76 and end with a 158 and tied for 24th overall. The final golfer for Behrend, Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) posted an 86 for this round to finish with a 166, good enough to tie for 44th.

The Lions return to action on Monday at the James Bowen Invitational held at Lake View Country Club in Northeast, Pa. beginning at 12 p.m.
