Lions Tie For Third at La Roche Invitational

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team tied for third out of 10 teams with a score of 323 at the 2015 La Roche Fall Invitational held on Tuesday.

Grove City won its second straight invitational in two days with a low score of 307. St. Vincent came in second (316), while both Lions' teams tied for third.

Cody Stinson (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) led Behrend with an (39-40) 79 on the day to finish in eight place and Sean Sculley (Waterford, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) was a stroke behind after shooting a 39 on the front and a 41 on the back to tie for ninth.

Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell), the current AMCC Athlete of the Week, tied for 13th overall behind a score of 81 (42-39) and Nicholas VanDamia (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was the fourth best golfer for the Lions with an 83. He carded a 44 and then a 39 to finish tied for 15th.

Ryder Gringol (Erie, PA/McDowell) carded an 84, the second time he has posted the score for Behrend. He tied for 18th with a 43 on the front nine and 41 on the back.

The Lions return to action Friday at D'Youville, beginning at 12 p.m.
