Lions, Shindledecker Win La Roche Invitational
The Penn State Behrend men's golf team captured the La Roche Invitational and Alex Shindledecker was the individual medalist with a low score of 75 at the Wildwood Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
ALLISON PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team captured the La Roche Invitational and Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) was the individual medalist with a low score of 75 at the Wildwood Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
Shindledecker had his best round of the season and defeated Pitt-Greensburg's Javon Trout in a playoff hole to win first place with a four over par. The Lions also took first with a team score of 323 to edge out the Redhawks, who came in second with a 326. Grove City was a close third with a 327 total.
Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) tied for eighth place with an 80, while Ryder Grignol (Erie, PA/McDowell) and JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) each shot an 84 to tie for 18th overall and finish tied for third on the team.
Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) finished in the Top 25 to round out the Behrend squad. He tallied an 85 to tie for 23rd with five other golfers.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, October 1 at the ECAC Championships in Rochester, NY.
