Sculley Leads Men's Golf at CMU Spring Shootout

APOLLO, Pa. – Sean Sculley (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) is tied for second place individually with a 75 on the opening day of the Carnegie Mellon Spring Shootout held at The Links at Spring Church on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions carded a team score of 307 to place them behind the leaders, Carnegie Mellon. The Tartans sit in first with a 301. Behrend is second, while Point Park is third with a score of 312. The second team for the Lions are currently in eighth place (333).
Sculley is two strokes behind the leader, Nikhil Mohan of CMU, who had the best score of 73 on the day. Alex Shindledecker (Erie, PA/McDowell) was second on the team and tied for sixth with a 76, while Ryan Matlock (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) was a stroke behind with a 77 to tie for 11th overall.
Cody Stinson (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) registered the final score for the first Behrend team. He tallied a 79 to tie for 19th.
Leading the second squad, Noah Kunst (Kittanning, PA/Kittanning) and JT Kuchnicki (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) each tied with an 81 to also tie for 26th place. Andy Goss (Allison, Park, PA/Hampton) was third on the team and tied for 35th with an 83. Zac McCue (Prospect, PA/Slippery Rock) rounded out the top four with an 88 (T-43).
The Lions return to action on tomorrow for the second day of the Shootout. Tee time is 9 a.m.
