ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team collected their first win of the season, claiming the annual James Bowen Invitational with a season-low score of 303 held at the Lawrence Park Golf Course on Monday afternoon.

* Behrend edged AMCC foe Pitt-Bradford by 12 strokes for first
* The Panthers took second (315) and Division II Mercyhurst came in third (326)
* Ryan Johnson (Centre Hall, PA/Penns Valley) claimed individual-medalist honors with a season-best 72 thanks to three birdies (35-37)
* Phil Pedano (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Alex Pol (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) tied for second place for the course
* Pedano (39-37) and Pol (40-36) each carded a 76 for the Lions, while Jake Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) also finished in the Top 10
* In a playoff for second-place trophy, Pedano broke the tie and took runner up
* Caldwell was eighth overall with a 79 to complete the scoring for the first Behrend team
* Matt Goldman (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) tied for 16th place with an 84
* Behrend's second team competing took fourth overall with a team score of 328
* Michael Stoddart (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) was the lone golfer in the second group to place in the Top 10, carding a 77 (38-39)
