LAWRENCE, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team carded a 316 to sit fourth out of six teams on day one of the Wooster Gatorade Intercollegiate Invitational held at the Zoar Village Golf Course on Saturday.

* The Behrend Lions opened the season with two guys tied in the Top 10
* After the first round, Ryan Johnson (Centre Hall, PA/Penns Valley) and Jake Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) tied for ninth overall
* Johnson and Caldwell each fired a team-low 76
* Phil Pedano (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) was third on the team and tied for 23rd overall with a 79 on the day
* Jacob Verner (Venetia, PA/Seton LaSalle) and Matt Goldman (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) rounded out the Lions lineup
* Verner sits tied for 37th place with an 85, while Goldman carded an 87 for 18 holes (T40)
* Individually, Tyler Parkhurst (Union City, PA/Union City) fired a 77, tying for 15th place
